Last night I led a yoga class for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund ; lovely group of people who want to help raise awareness around a condition that affects so many people in our nation and world. Diabetes is a life-long path of growing with the condition and adapting your life to remain healthy.
Check out my friends Lindsay Grubiak and Sara Hool, who have dedicated to raise money and ride for a cure this July 2012.
Stretch your possibilities today and search for a cause that makes your smile

“Our Mission is to cultivate the inner lives of students, teachers and schools by integrating social and emotional learning with contemplative practice.”- The Inner Resilience Program
Finding mindfulness in our every day lives will help to build emotional intelligence and confidence in our daily path. Educating one’s heart to understand that others have their OWN path to travel. Bringing this awareness to our selves will help us become mindful in our actions and reactions.

The mystery in almond milk
March 29th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
My ayurvedic doctor recently noticed that store bought ‘organic almond milk’ has a toxic ingredient called ‘Carrageenan’, used as a thickener, which can lead to liver/ pancreas problems and cause diabetes. Hemp milk doesn’t have it, since it naturally very thick.
Suggestion: Hemp milk instead of Almond milk. You might need to add 1/2 cup water to 1/2 cup of hemp milk according to your taste.
Picture above-365 wholefoods unsweetened almond milk with no Carrageenan!

Yoga Freedom Project
January 26th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
NeXt WeEk yogi’s combine to create unity.
The Yoga Freedom Project is a monthlong campaign within the yoga community to bring awareness to the issue and to raise money. Throughout January, there have been over 50 donation-based classes taking place around the world from the US to England to Singapore. On January 31st in NYC the month culminates in Practice for Freedom, an inspirational class and celebration led collaboratively, by Elena Brower, Sri Dharma Mittra, Dana Flynn, Alan Finger, Cyndi Lee, Jodie Rufty, Sierra Bender, Tricia Donegan and Off the Mat’s Suzanne Sterling. All of these powerful teachers from varying yoga lineages are coming together to give a voice to this cause and stand in unity.
I personally being involved with this project has shed light on the larger population of this world we live in.
As Heather Snyder quotes in the YogaDork Blog:
“In Cambodia, where sex trafficking is amongst the worst in the world, children as young as 3 are sold for virginity, and are forced to service up to 20 clients a day. Girls are being tortured and raped and starved every day. What is happening is horrific and we need to educate people and shine a light on this issue if we ever want it to stop.”
Something that can be stopped if eyes are opened and hearts are mended.
Come practice with us on January 31, 2012
Time for Change- Full Moon
January 9th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Full moon, thank you for bringing me sleepiness and deep thoughts.
As I welcomed the first full moon of the year yesterday, I would like to start this year with change and productivity. This blog/website will become my channel for such posting of change.
With the awakening of a new year, many rush to create a physical change in their bodies. Rushing to the gym, yoga studio, diet mentors and of course vegan restaurants. But I must say, I see this year as much physical as mental modifications as any. Reaching into our minds to find the peace we would like to obtain, reading for leisure, spending time with people you want to spend time with. Mental contributions to our health will be priority for me this year. What is yours?
