The Pranic Body:
“as long as the vayu (air and prana) remains in the body, that is called life. Death is when it leaves the body. Therefore, retain vayu”.-SwAmi Muktibodhananda

Neutral Bliss Safari

Watching the leaves change outside my apartment window; brought ease of the fall settling in. As I walked back towards my kitchen I noticed the drying dishes on the counter top. The young giraffe measuring cup looked like he was leaping through dunes of multi-colored sand. I recognize that through my yoga practice I am drawn to less colorful material objects. Imagining choices of neutral bliss is on my radar.
The coloring of the mind dissipates with disciplined practice of yoga. Patterns are recognized and released. Colors fade away to reality. Think of the last material item you purchased….what color is your mind?

http://blog.epromos.com/images/yoga-clock.jpgTime, we are all ruled by time. Either waking in the morning or resting our heads at night; we are controlled by the ruler. Time. We depend on the system of time to create order and schedules for the population. If there wasn’t time public services would not exists, meetings would not happen and we would live in eternal waiting. I think yogic-ally speaking, the expansion of one’s day allows for the sun to rise and fall with balance. Un-yogic-ally speaking time creates chaos, impatience, demands, rising blood pressure moments that are unhealthy. “If only we had more time in the day” or “if only this day would stop dragging” . We create this. We fill our moments by choice. We wait in the line or we dash out the door. We are contributing to time. Take a moment this weekend to turn off your phone, take off you watch, cover your clocks and relax. Remember time is there to be expanded and guide us through our days on this earth.

Jack-o-grass sprouts an awareness of bringing light to our silly side of the upcoming holiday; Halloween! Scary but healthy, placing a balanced head of grass into our jack-o-lantern to remind us of good practices and growth throughout the season. Stay green and silly!

The sleek lines of this balanced Warrior II pose reminds me of stability. Feeling strong and calm, yet ready for battle. A common asana you will flow in and out of thousands of times over your yoga lifetime but one that is a solid reminder of ” you are strong”.
